| General Notes: | The first application connected with this family was on Jan 30/77, when the wife asked that her husband, lighterman and dock labourer, who had been out of work a fortnight and was ill might have medical assistance. Admission to S.A. offered but not accepted at the time. He went in subsequently. In Jan 86 the man died and the wife applied in August for the admission of two lads, who were troublesome, into the schools. George and John were admitted. In March 88, the woman asks that John may come home as she thinks she can keep him. She and her daughter earn 15/-(Shillings) a week as tailoresses. Ann is at home and takes care of the younger children. In April 89, the woman says that she finds she cannot support the children as work is not very good so wishes John re-admitted and Charles admitted. Order to this effect was made. |
